Ballet: Ballet is the Fundamental of all dance types and is recommeneded to accompany any other choices of discipline. Students are educated throughout their lessons in proper technique, muscle strength, musicality, expression, proper posture and the beauty of the art of dance. Ballet I, II and III will focus on ballet fundamentals including body alignment, vocabulary and will progress to center work, progressions with leaps and turns and eventually will lead to Pointe work in Ballet III, when the student is physically ready.
Class options: Ballet I, Ballet II, Ballet III. Ballet is also offered in Combo 3/4, Combo 5/6, Workshops 1-4
Tap: Basic tap technique is taught at all levels. Students will learn rhythm and sound coordination using proper tap techniques.
Class options: Combo 3/4, Combo 5/6, Tap 2 and offered in Workshops 1-4
Jazz: This class covers jazz technique, focusing on basic jazz positions, turns, jumps & leaps. Students will also learn center and locomotor progressions as well as proper stretching techniques to enhance strength & flexibility.
Class options: Jazz levels 1-3 and Workshop 4: Tap and Jazz
Lyrical: Lyrical tells a story through dance and combines ballet, jazz and modern techniques. This class develops strength, flexibility and balance with a strong ballet base. More experienced dancers will progress this style into Contemporary which has a more modern feel while still building on the techniques learned in lyrical.
Class options: Lyrical levels 1-3, Contemporary 1 and 2 and Workshop 4: Ballet & Lyrical
Hip Hop: Hip Hop combines jazz, street and funk styles in a high energy class developing technique, performance and self confidence. Hip Hop also branches out into breaking which is a style that requires much upper body strength. Students will also learn the skills, strength and work on flexibility required to perform some break moves and holds.
Class options: Hip Hop Babies, Hip Hop levels 1-4
Acro: A class that combines basic gymnastic tumbling and jazz dance. Proper alignment, placement and safety are key factors, while also improving strength and overall flexibility.
Class options: Acro Level 1-3 as well as combined level 1&2
Musical Theater: This class will teach basic acting and theater techniques through the use of dance in the style of jazz.
Boyz Club: An all boys class which incorporates Hip Hop and basic tumbling for boys only!
Combo 3/4: Ages 3-4 Combo 5/6: Ages 5-6
Taught from a creative yet structured approach, this class teaches the beginning fundamentals of ballet and tap for the young dancers. Focus is placed on balance, coordination and musicality, all the while building a love of dance!
Workshop 1: Ages 7-9
Workshop 1.5: 9-12 Workshop 2: 10-14
Workshop 3: 14 & Up
Similiar to the combo classes but focusing and progressing the techniques learned each level. Workshop 1 is great for the beginning dancer or the dancer that has completed the Combo classes and even one or two years in the Workshop 1 class. Worskshop 1.5 is geared more for the student that has completed at least one year of Workshop 1 or falls into the age range set. Workshop 2 is designed for the student who has been dancing for a number of years and is starting to really focus on more advanced techniques but not looking to specialize at this point in time.
Workshop 3 is designed to allow a student to get more focused on the techniques and improve upon the performance of the art being taught. These classes are for the dancer who is still looking for their specialty but enjoys working hard and expanding their ability and love of dance but not necessarily commit to focusing on one style.
Ballet II: Ages 11-15 Ballet III: 14 & Up
These classes are for those wishing to focus and enhance their ballet knowledge and technical ability. Ballet III does have the option to progress into Pointe, at the discretion of the instructor based on the student's physical readiness.
Hip Hop Babies:Ages 4-6
Hip Hop 1: Ages: 7-10 Hip Hop 1.5: 10- 12
Hip Hop 2: 12-15 Hip Hop 3: 15 & Up
Hip Hop 1 is for the beginning dancer. Hip Hop 1.5 is for the dancer that has been dancing and is looking to expand their ability but not quite ready or old enough for Hip Hop 2. Hip Hop 2 can be for either the beginning teen dancer or for the dancer that has progressed through the previous levels. Hip Hop 3 is for the more experienced dancer that is looking to focus more on technique, strength and performance abilities.
Jazz & Lyrical: Beginner: Ages 7-11
Advanced Beginner: 11- 14
Each of these is open to dancers who are ready to start in a program and then move into a more advanced level of it when they are physically ready and old enough.
Contemporary: Ages 14 & Up
This class is for the dancer that has progressed through the other levels of lyrical or ballet and is looking to focus on improving their abilities, techniques and strength at a faster pace.
Acro 1: Ages 6-10 Acro 2: 9--13 Acro 3: 10-13 *
Acro 1 is for the student just starting out in this style. Acro 2 is a more advanced progression of the techniques and strength involved in Acro 1.
Acro 3: Needs prior approval from instructor.
Drama & Vocal : Ages 7 & Up!
Each class is age specific and will work on elements that are age appropriate for that specific group. No prior knoweldge is required for either of the classes.
